All of our digital downloads are MP3s encoded using the LAME "?alt preset extreme" settings. This averages at about 256kps. This is much higher than your normal import. We also don't use any DRM on our downloads. So you can easily put them on your iPod, burn them to a CD & listen to them in your car.

We accept credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover), PayPal, money order, or well concealed cash (at your own risk!. We also accept checks, although this payment method forces us to hold your order for at least 2 weeks to allow bank clearance. Sorry, no exceptions. All other payment methods, listed above, ship within 3 days after we receive them. Return Policy

We accept returns ONLY on defective merchandise or if we screw up your order. All credits are payable in Thrill Jockey vouchers only.Be sure to get in touch before returning any items.  Contact orders@thrilljockey.com regarding all mail order returns. You must have Brent's permission to return any merchandise for credit.

Always list alternates, especially when ordering t-shirts. For each order of $25 or more (excluding postage), you get two free posters (our choice). Feel free to suggest bands you prefer, but there are no guarantees.Please note alternate poster requests and t-shirt sizes in the comments section of your shopping cart order.

Shipping Charges

Domestic (US) customers:

You now have three domestic shipping options: UPS Ground Shipping, USPS Priority Mail, and USPS Media Mail. Due to the recent increase in postage rates, we are now offering the Media Mail service at a low flat rate. We here at Thrill Jockey will continue to offer the premium shipping services that we have always offered, however realize that not all of you are as concerned with time sensitivity. For more information on these services, see below.

Note: Thrill Jockey is not responsible for any lost/damaged parcels shipped via the USPS unless additional Insurance or Registered services are purchased and applied to the order in question.  USPS Priority mail includes free delivery confirmation services, and UPS service offers free insurance and tracking services.

UPS ground delivery: This option usually takes about 3-5 days depending on the destination. Cost is a flat fee of $8.50 for orders of any size and automatically includes insurance and tracking services. Shipping to regular business or residential addresses ­ excludes PO Boxes. Sorry. Also, please be sure that the shipping address you submit is completely correct; any address changes during transit will result in an additional $5.50 charge to your credit card.

USPS Priority delivery: Provides swift delivery. Usually takes 2-4 days for delivery depending on destination. Cost of this premium service is as follows-

Up to three items, excluding vinyl records: $4.60, $0.50 each additional non-vinyl item.*

Up to one 12" vinyl record: $4.60, when ordering additional vinyl records  the price will increase based upon location.  On average it is $1.00 each additional full size record.**

* 7" records fall into this pricing category.

** Double LPs count as 2 records each. Sorry, vinyl is heavy, and therefore expensive to ship.

USPS Priority deliveries can now be insured! We strongly suggest that you consider this service. Thrill Jockey will not be responsible for any lost parcels which have not applied this service. No exceptions.

USPS Media Mail: This service now being offered due to the increased postage costs. Delivery parallels USPS First Class service, plus an extra day or two. The maximum days allowed for Media Mail delivery is six days, as per USPS delivery standards. Cost is a flat fee of $2.50. Insurance is also offered for all parcels shipped via Media Mail (see Insurance Rate Chart below). Please note that apparel items cannot be shipped via Media Mail.

USPS Priority Mail and all Media Mail can be Insured. Insurance coverage is additional to Postage.

$50.01 to $100.00 = $2.05
$100.01 to $200.00 = $2.45
$200.01 to $300.00 = $4.60
$300.01 to $400.00 = $5.50

Airmail/International customers:


We will ship via Airmail (US Postal Service) only, no surface orders. Airmail delivery: Varies by country destination and weight of parcel. Please use the Postage Rates chart below for reference ONLY. Each International/Airmail order will be charged according to actual parcel weight and costs, which are applied here at the office, since they vary greatly. An approximate shipping charge can be figured before you commit to placing an orders. Simply send us an email beforehand and you will receive a swift response. Failure to do so could result in a shortage of your order and a credit slip for the difference, as all refunds are paid in Thrill Jockey credit only.

Registered Mail: apparently, this is the safest way to send a parcel. Provides maximum protection and security. Available for parcels sent by Airmail (does not include insurance). The Registered service is not available to all countries (for example: Cuba, Korea,North Korea). Cost for this service:

***Thrill Jockey is not responsible for lost parcels with this service. Insurance is available for Airmail parcels but is quite expensive. No rates readily available though us. Rates/charges are available at the post office only. Simply let us know if you are interested in this service and we can send you a reply email right away.
***Yes, Thrill Jockey will take responsibility for parcels paid with insured  service. Thrill Jockey derives its Air Mail rates from rates posted at www.usps.gov. We recommend reviewing postage via the USPS website if you have any questions regarding shipping costs prior to ordering.
