Kryptonite

Borrowed from the past yet seen through the eyes of the future. Equal parts the Damned and the Buzzcocks, yet full of spit and shit to kick the ass of the faceless interchangeable rock bands working straight from a blueprint. Kryptonite was recorded with Tim Mac in Minneapolis and shows the fellas shedding their skin with some slower paced rockin' songs (gasp!), horns and piano (double gasp!). Gaunt cleaned a bit of the fuzz that surrounded previous recordings, but still leave you feeling you just heard the best punk record in ages.

Kryptonite, a concept record about Superman and his love affair with Lois Lane, shows the band maturing beyond the kamikaze speed of Sob or I Can See..., with a perfect balance of energy, melody and heart. Kryptonite is a tour de force of great songs and catchy melodies.
